Bayi Steel will build short process steelmaking carbon-free factory in Xinjiang
Mar. 7, 2022 - Recently, Bayi steel sigend a contract with Xinjiang’s local government in Hejing county to build the world’s first short process steelmaking carbon-free factory demonstration line in Xinjiang. The two parties will take advantages of Hejing county’s recourses and technological, financial and management strengths of Bayi steel to promote the development of green energy and improve Bayi steel’s comprehensive competitiveness.
According to the agreement, Bayi Steel will build green electricity, electric furnace, steel strip continuous casting and rolling production line in Hejing County.
Both parties strive to start construction of the project in the second half of the year, and complete and put it into operation in the second half of 2023. The production line will achieve zero carbon emissions through the use of photovoltaic green power and forestry carbon sequestration.
